Director Change

The Board of Shanks Group plc ("Shanks") announces that Tom Drury has decided to leave the Company in order to work closer to his home in Cheshire. Tom is to join Arrow Global Ltd, a private company based in Manchester, as chief executive and he will become a shareholder in the business. He will leave Shanks by 31 October 2011 and is committed to facilitating a smooth transition. A search to find his replacement is underway.

The Board wishes to express its sincere appreciation for Tom's leadership during his four years with the Company and wishes him every success for the future.

Adrian Auer, Chairman of Shanks said:

"We will be sorry to see Tom go, but respect his decision to work nearer to his home in Cheshire. We are grateful for the excellent job he has done for Shanks.

Tom has set a compelling strategic direction for the business, with clear evidence in our recently reported results of delivery against this strategy. He will leave the business in very good shape. With the strength and experience of our Board and executive management team, I am very confident that Shanks will maintain its current growth momentum."

Tom Drury, Group Chief Executive of Shanks said:
