HOLDING IN COMPANY

Redrow plc (the 'Company') announces that on 18th February 2004, Citibank NA
('Citibank'), notified the Company that Standard Life Investments ('Standard
Life') had entered into a strategic relationship with them whereby Citibank
would provide Standard Life with a number of services previously performed by
Standard Life.  Accordingly Citibank have informed the Company that Standard
Life had on 17th February 2004 sold on behalf of Standard Life Group 217,894
shares in the Company decreasing the total held as a material interest in the
Company to 4,720,060 shares being below 3% of the issued stock of the Company.
