NEW DIRECTORATE

Redrow plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Brian Duckworth as a
non-executive director.  Mr Duckworth, aged 53, is Managing Director of Severn
Trent Water Limited and a director of Severn Trent plc.

Mr Duckworth joined the Board of Severn Trent Water Limited in November 1994 and
was appointed Managing Director in April 1995 having previously held the posts
of Director of Finance and Customer Service Director. He is also currently
Chairman of Severn Trent Water International Limited.

Mr Duckworth is also a non-executive director of Avon Rubber plc.

There are no matters relating to Mr Duckworth which are required to be disclosed
under paragraphs 6 F 2(b) to 6 F 2 (g) of The Listing Rules.
