                                 AGM Statement


Michael Waring, Chairman of Northgate plc, stated at the Group's AGM today:

'In the Group's recently published report and accounts I announced that the
prospects for the future development of our business remain very encouraging.
I am pleased to say that trading continues to be in line with our
expectations, both for the current financial year and for our five year
strategy for growth.

'I would also like to add that provided the current fuel shortages start to
ease soon, as seems to be the case, the impact on the Group will be
negligible.'
