Ruukki delivered a total of 38,000 tonnes of steel products, such as plates and
profiles, for the hull of the Allure of the Seas cruise ship, which has been
built at STX Europe's shipyard in Turku, Finland. The amount of steel Ruukki
delivered accounts for around 70 per cent of the steel used in the vessel.

The newly-completed Allure of the Seas and its identical sister ship, Oasis of
the Seas, which was completed last year are the world's largest cruise ships.
Ruukki also delivered about 70 per cent of the steel used in Oasis of the Seas.
The vessels are 361 metres long, have capacity for 6,360 passengers and 2,100
crew members.

We have worked together with Ruukki for a long time and know how each other
works. This makes things easier when working to tight schedules. Ruukki acted
flexibly in this project and was able to quickly react to last minute changes,"
says Kari S. Laiho, Vice President, Hull production at STX Europe's Turku
shipyard.

The hull of the vessel was built one block at a time and Ruukki delivered the
plate material for each block to the customer as the plan progressed.

"Smooth deliveries and constantly paying attention to the customer's needs was
ensured by relocating Ruukki's own project manager to the shipyard to oversee
deliveries and project progress with the customer's representative," says Vice
President Jouni Rättyä at Ruukki.
