Response to the Davies Report on Women on Boards

The board notes the publication of a review of Women on Boards by Lord Davies of Abersoch which was published in February 2011 and the subsequent consultation undertaken by the Financial Reporting Council in relation to potential changes to the UK Corporate Governance Code. 

The board's view is that whilst the best qualified candidate should be appointed to any role, a range of backgrounds, skills and experience is important, and that gender diversity plays an important part in achieving this balance.
