Approval for Disposal of Holidays Division


The  Rank Group Plc announces that the resolution proposing  the
disposal of the Holidays Division, details of which were set out
in  the  circular to Rank shareholders dated 28 September  2000,
was  approved  at today's Extraordinary General Meeting  of  the
Company.   Completion of the disposal is expected on 20  October
2000.

Following  the  approval of the disposal, the Group  intends  to
commence a purchase of ordinary shares, within the 15% authority
granted at the Annual General Meeting.
