Quarto, the book publisher, announces that Terry Hancock,  Chief
Operating   Officer,  has  left  the  Company  to  pursue   other
interests.

Laurence  F  Orbach,  Chief  Executive  Officer,  will   resume
responsibility   for   Quarto's  core  International   Co-edition
Publishing  Division. It is not intended to appoint a  new  Chief
Operating Officer.

Trading continues to be in line with expectations, and the  Board
is considering ways of improving shareholder value.
