                      The Quarto Group Inc ('The Company')



The Quarto Group Inc (The Company) has acquired 100,000 shares of 8.75p (net)
convertible cumulative redeemable shares of preferred stock US$0.10 each in The
Quarto Group Inc at a price of 110p per share.

This purchase represents 1.92% of the total preferred stock of the Company and,
when added to the 230,000 shares already held, it represents 6.34% of the total
preferred stock of the Company.
