The Quarto Group Inc (The Company) has acquired 50,000 shares of 8.75p (net)
convertible cumulative redeemable shares of preferred stock US$0.10 each in The
Quarto Group Inc at an average price of 119.6p per share.

This purchase represents 0.96% of the total preferred stock of the Company and,
when added to the 180,000 shares already held, it represents 4.42% of the total
preferred stock of the Company.
