                              Resignation of a Director

Quarto, the London-based international co-edition book publisher, announces that
Mr George Tai has resigned as a Director of the Company, as his being resident
in Hong Kong has precluded regular attendance at Board meetings.

Mr Tai will, however, continue as Managing Director of Quarto's Far East-based
print broking business, Regent Publishing Services Limited.
