                       ANNOUNCEMENT OF S.198 NOTIFICATION

QinetiQ Group plc (the 'Company') announces, in accordance with Listing Rule
9.6.7, that the Company was notified on 12 April 2006 that Lansdowne Partners
Limited Partnership, as at 7 April 2006, had an interest in 33,099,310 ordinary
shares of the Company. This represents 5.09% of the issued share capital of the
Company.
