                       ANNOUNCEMENT OF S.198 NOTIFICATION

QinetiQ Group plc (the 'Company') announces, in accordance with Listing Rule
9.6.7, that the Company was notified on 12 June 2006 that Lansdowne Partners
Limited Partnership, as at 7 June 2006, had an interest in 52,842,766 ordinary
shares of the Company. This represents 8.12 % of the issued share capital of the
Company.
