                       ANNOUNCEMENT OF S.198 NOTIFICATION

QinetiQ Group plc (the 'Company') announces, in accordance with Listing Rule
9.6.7, that the Company was notified on 8 May 2006 that Lansdowne Partners
Limited Partnership, as at 5 May 2006, had an interest in 48,017,918 ordinary
shares of the Company. This represents 7.38% of the issued share capital of the
Company.
