Directors' Notification of Dealing in Shares

Pittards plc announces that it was notified today (24 May 2000) that Mourant &
Co Trustees Ltd, trustees of the Pittards Employee Share Ownership Trust,
acquired today 539,000 ordinary 25p shares in the Company at 45 pence per
share.

The main potential beneficiaries in the Trust are executives of the Company
awarded shares under a restricted share plan and long term incentive plan and
include JWW Pittard, JH Buckley, RH Hankey, SR Johnson and R Paisley, who are
directors of the Company.  The Trust is now benefically interested in 847,316
ordinary shares, representing approximately 3.89% of the Company's issued
share capital.

The Company was also notified that Mr RH Hankey, a director of the Company,
and his wife Mrs G Hankey, purchased 1,310 and 200 ordinary shares
respectively at 45 pence per share today, through their respective Personal
Equity Plans.  Mr Hankey is now deemed to be benefically interested in 44,780
ordinary shares, respresenting approximately 0.21 per cent of the entire
issued share capital of the Company.
