                               PENDRAGON PLC ('Pendragon')

In line with the statement made in the Annual Report 2000 and affirmed in the
Preliminary Announcement of its results for the period to 31 December 2001, 
regarding the utilisation of net profits from property disposals to repurchase
the company's shares, Pendragon PLC has today, 7 March 2002, purchased seven
hundred and fifty thousand of its ordinary shares at a price of 327 pence per 
share. 

These shares will be cancelled.
