                       PENDRAGON PLC ('PENDRAGON')


In line with the statement made in the Annual Report 2000 regarding the
utilisation of net profits from property disposals to repurchase the company's
shares, Pendragon PLC has today purchased one million of its ordinary shares at
a price of 226 pence per share. These shares will be cancelled.
