                                TREASURY SHARES

SOCO International plc announces that on 8 June 2006 it purchased 100,000 of its
ordinary shares of 20 pence each, of which 50,000 were purchased at a price of
1158.4 pence per share and 50,000 were purchased at 1158.5 pence per share. The
purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchases, SOCO International plc holds 645,500 ordinary
shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue
(excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares) is 71,987,439.
