                                TREASURY SHARES

SOCO International plc announces that on 31 May 2006 it purchased 35,000 of its
ordinary shares of 20 pence each at a price of 1219.742857 pence per share. The
purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, SOCO International plc holds 314,500 ordinary
shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue
(excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares) is 72,318,439.
