Transaction in own shares

SOCO announces that on 29 November 2011 it purchased 34,888 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 297.9608 pence per ordinary share.  The highest price and the lowest price paid for these shares were 298.6 pence and 296.6 pence respectively. All the purchased shares will be held as Treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, SOCO holds 921,088 ordinary shares as Treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 339,618,364 (excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares).
