Transaction in own shares

SOCO announces that on 25 November 2011 it purchased 110,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 277.5911 pence per ordinary share.  The highest price and the lowest price paid for these shares were 285.5 pence and 274.4 pence respectively. All the purchased shares will be held as Treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, SOCO holds 796,200 ordinary shares as Treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 339,743,252 (excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares).
