Preliminary Testing Results

Soco International PLC 14 December 2006 SOCO International plc ('SOCO' or 'the Company') TGT-5X Preliminary Test Results SOCO is an international oil and gas exploration and production company, headquartered in London, traded on the London Stock Exchange and a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. The Company has interests in Vietnam, Yemen, Thailand, the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa) with production operations in Yemen. Further to an announcement earlier today by a PetroVietnam Exploration & Production Company representative during a symposium in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, preliminary test results from Miocene Lower Bach Ho 5.2 pay zone in the TGT-5X appraisal well on the Te Giac Trang ('TGT') structure on Block 16-1 offshore Vietnam yielded approximately 7,300 barrels of oil per day ('BOPD'). An earlier test from the Oligocene interval in the same well flowed approximately 7,000 BOPD, thus producing a preliminary combined test of more than 14,000 BOPD. Testing is still underway in the Miocene interval.
