The Company was notified today that on 9 January 2007, Pontoil Intertrade Ltd
bought 8,000(0.01%) SOCO International plc ordinary shares of £0.20 each
('Shares') and on 10 January 2007, a further 200,000 (0.27%) Shares.

Following this transaction, Pontoil Intertrade Ltd holds 14,703,313 Shares,
representing 20.21% of the issued share capital of the Company.
