The Company was notified today that the Joint-Stock Bank of the Gas Industry
Gazprombank (Closed Joint-Stock Company) ('Gazprombank') has sold 200,000 SOCO
International plc ordinary shares of £0.20 each ('Shares') at £12.92587 per
Share representing 0.27% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Following this transaction, Gazprombank now holds 2,719,430 Shares representing
3.74% of the issued share capital of the Company.
