The Company gives notice that on 22 March 2001 the trustee of the SOCO
Employee Benefit Trust (the'Trust') acquired 800,000 SOCO International plc
ordinary shares of 20p each at a price of  £1.05.
 
The directors of SOCO are deemed to be interested in the shares held by the
Trustee. 

Following this announcement the interest of the Trust will be 800,000 Ordinary
shares representing 1.14% of the issued share capital of the company.

No additional interests arise on the part of the directors by reason of the
purchases referred to in this announcement.
