ISSUE OF EQUITY

The board of Petro Matad Limited ("the Company") announces that it has today issued 25,000 new ordinary shares of US$0.01 which it has granted to a retiring senior employee of the Company, Damdin Janchiv. This is pursuant to a performance share award granted to him on admission of the Company's shares to AIM in May 2008.  

Application has been made for the 25,000 new ordinary shares to be admitted to AIM, which is expected on 25 February 2009.

Following today's issue, there are 96,705,004 ordinary shares in issue.
