                  Petra Diamond Limited (or ' the Company')


                               Issue of equity


The issuer advises that the following replaces the 'Issue of Equity Update'
announcement released on 13 June 2001; at 14:37 under RNS number 1995F.

The correct number of shares issued in connection with the placing should read
1,200,000 and not 1,280,000 as previously stated.

All other details remain unchanged.  The full-amended text appears below.

It was announced on 13 June 2001 that application had been made for the
admission to trading on AIM of 1,687,304 Ordinary Shares of 10 pence each in
the Company. 1,280,000 Ordinary Shares have been issued in connection with a
placing at 50 pence and the balance issued while the company was suspended.
These numbers were incorrect.

The correct number of shares for which application has been made was 1,607,304
of which 1,200,000 were issued in connection with the placing.

Trading in these shares commenced on Thursday 14 June 2001.
