PETRA DIAMONDS LIMITED (THE 'COMPANY')



Petra Diamonds Limited announces that it has issued 250,000 ordinary shares of
10p each at a price of 23p each in respect of the first of two equal tranches of
an implementation fee due to Comell Capital Partners Offshore LLP.



It is expected that the shares will be admitted to trading on AiM on 17 July
2002.
