                         SCREEN PLC - CONTRACT GAINS

                Petards Corporate Knowledge gains Major Orders

      from Computer Patent Annuities and IT Direct at Lloyd's of London



Screen plc ('Screen'), the security and communications systems provider,
announces that its Petards Corporate Knowledge ('PCK') subsidiary, the
software developer formerly called Tranzline, has won a major order from
Jersey-based Computer Patent Annuities Limited Partnership ('CPA'), to supply
its CRMSoft System for their global solution for marketing, sales and delivery
process.



Additionally Petards Corporate Knowledge has been selected by IT Direct to
supply its CRMSoft System for an undisclosed sum.  PCK will be one of 15 key
IT suppliers alongside others, such as Microsoft, Compaq and Dell, who provide
IT hardware, software and associated services, and business solutions to the
Lloyd's Market Companies and The Baltic Exchange member companies.



On the CPA contract PCK will be working alongside the international IT
consultancy Perot Systems, who are responsible for a wider revitalisation of
CPA's IT systems infrastructure.  The CRM project, which started earlier this
year, is worth around £500,000 to PCK.



The CRMSoft System, which interfaces to legacy systems such as Oracle
Financials and AS400, will improve customer relationships, delivery of
services and facilitate opportunities to cross-sell new products to existing
customers as well as streamlining new customer acquisitions.  CRMSoft will be
implemented as a hybrid of office-based client server, mobile remote access
and web browser user access.



Said Peter Simmonds Operations & IT Director of CPA: 'We selected CRMSoft as a
'best of breed' CRM solution from a UK company with a depth of CRM experience.
  The ability to develop a hybrid solution mixing client server, remote user
and web access was a key factor in our decision.  We were impressed with the
degree of flexibility to quickly adapt to our businesses processes, which are
very specific, and in some areas complex. We needed a system, which could
adapt to these processes and be deployable for CPA's internal and remote users
as well as our business partners who will have access to the system via the
web.'



Commenting upon the CPA contract gain, John Bryant, Managing Director of
Petards Corporate Knowledge, said: 'This is a major project for PCK involving
a team of around eight consultants. It is clear from the exacting requirements
CPA have that few systems in the market could meet them. CRMSoft is very well
suited to this kind of application - we are delighted to be able demonstrate
what CRMSoft can really deliver.'



He added as regards the contract with IT Direct: 'We are delighted with this
new relationship. IT Direct is a very interesting and innovative business with
an exciting channel model.  We look forward to working together in this
partnership arrangement and serving many target customers in The Lloyd's of
London and Baltic Exchange markets.'



The CPA order is one of the largest to date secured by Petards Corporate
Knowledge.
