SCREEN PLC: £5M PLACING SUCCESS
Screen Plc ('Company'), the provider of advanced security and communication
systems, announces that, following the announcement of a Placing and Open
Offer of Ordinary Shares in the Company on 25th January 2001, it has now
received firm commitments from institutional and other investors to invest in
excess of £5 million. Final allocations under the Placing and Open Offer are
expected to be made on or before 19th February 2001.
Commenting on the Placing and Open Offer, Owen Williams, Chairman of Screen,
said:
'We are delighted that the Placing has been successful. It introduces more
institutional shareholders to the Company.
As stated on 25th January 2001, proceeds will be used to fund the recently
completed acquisition of the Civil Systems Division of BAE Systems Plc, future
acquisitions, product development and to provide additional working capital.
Screen has an active and on-going acquisition programme and is seeking
additional opportunities that will either enhance or extend the Group's
product range and markets within the general wireless communications sector.
We intend to continue to focus on the design and supply of '
Business-to-Business' wireless and other communication based products and
services.'
