PURCHASE OF OWN SECURITIES



On 5 January 2007 Personal Assets Trust plc bought 250 of its own Ordinary
Shares of £12.50 to be held in treasury at a price of £261.50 each.  There are
734,374 shares in issue and 16,537 shares held in treasury following this
transaction.
