                             Results of EGM


On 24 November 2005, Persimmon announced the terms of a recommended cash offer
by Citigroup on behalf of Persimmon for Westbury for an estimated cash
consideration of £643 million. A circular convening an Extraordinary General
Meeting on 6 January 2006 to obtain shareholder approval for the Acquisition and
the Synergy Incentive Plan was posted to Persimmon shareholders on 20 December
2005 (the 'Circular').

Persimmon announces that at the Extraordinary General Meeting held earlier today
the resolutions approving the Acquisition and the Synergy Incentive Plan were
both duly passed.

A copy of the resolutions passed at the Extraordinary General Meeting will be
submitted to the Financial Services Authority for publication through the
document viewing facility which is situated at the Financial Services Authority,
25 North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.

Westbury Shareholders are reminded that the first closing date of the Offer is
3.00 p.m. (London time) today.

Terms defined in the Circular shall have the same meanings in this announcement.
