Persimmon plc (the 'Company') announces that on 27 October 2000 the undernoted
directors  and/or  their wives have taken up shares in lieu  of  the  dividend
payable on the same date:

The effective cost per share was £2.06.

As  a  result  Mr D H Davidson (and his family) are interested  in  18,020,067
ordinary  shares  of  the Company (9.87% of the issued share  capital);  Mr  G
Grewer (and his wife) are interested in 296,745 ordinary shares of the Company
(0.16% of the issued capital); Mr D G Bryant (and his wife) are interested  in
236,396 ordinary shares of the Company (0.13% of the issued share capital) and
Mr M H Killoran is interested in 7,932 ordinary shares of the Company.
