HOLDING IN COMPANY
Pennon Group Plc has received notification (by a letter dated 29 September
2000) pursuant to Section 198 (as amended), of the Companies Act 1985 that
CGNU plc now holds 9,461,715 Ordinary shares of £1 each in Pennon Group Plc,
representing 6.94% of the issued share capital of the Company.
