BOARD APPOINTMENT

The Board of Pennon Group is very pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Gill Rider as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 September 2012.  She will be a member of the Board's Audit, Remuneration, Sustainability and Nomination Committees.

Gill has held senior executive roles in global management consulting and technology services and more recently in the Cabinet Office.  She currently holds non-executive directorships with Charles Taylor Consulting Plc, the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development where she is president, and De La Rue Plc where she is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.

As an executive, Gill's most recent senior position was with the Cabinet Office where she was head of the Civil Service Capability Group reporting to the Cabinet Secretary.  Prior to that she held a number of senior positions with Accenture culminating in the post of Chief Leadership Officer for the global firm.

In respect of UKLA Listing Rule 9.6.13 relating to further information concerning the appointment of a new director it should be noted that Gill Rider has been and continues to be a non-executive director of De La Rue Plc and of Charles Taylor Consulting Plc.  There is no other information required to be disclosed in compliance with this Listing Rule.
