Pennon Group PLC 17 May 2006 PENNON GROUP PLC NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR SOUTH WEST WATER Pennon Group Plc is pleased to announce that Christopher Loughlin has been appointed as Chief Executive of South West Water Limited and as an Executive Director of the Pennon Group Board with effect from 1 August 2006. Chris, aged 53, was most recently Chief Operating Officer with Lloyd's Register and previously he was an executive director of British Nuclear Fuels Plc and executive chairman of Magnox Electric Plc. Chris started his career as a consulting engineer and subsequently held a number of senior positions with British Nuclear Fuels. Chris is a chartered civil engineer and has an honours degree in civil engineering and an MBA. Ken Harvey, Chairman, said 'I am delighted to welcome Chris to Pennon Group. He brings with him extensive experience of a regulated business and the management of major engineering projects and services which I believe will prove invaluable to the Company'. Pennon Group announced on 13 February 2006 that Bob Baty, the current Chief Executive of South West Water, was due to retire upon reaching his normal retirement age after 45 years service in the industry. Bob will now retire on 31 July 2006. Ken Harvey stated 'the Board expresses its gratitude to Bob for all the excellent work he has done in successfully managing South West Water over the past ten years and wishes him a long and enjoyable retirement'.
