Silvermines Group plc ('Silvermines' or 'the Company')

Reduction of Share Premium Account and Change of Name

Earlier today Silvermines posted a circular to shareholders.  The circular
contained information regarding the Company's proposal to reduce the Company's
share premium account following the recent disposal of non-core businesses. 
The Company also proposes to change the Company's name to Vislink plc.  Both
the proposals require shareholder approval.  An Extraordinary General Meeting
of the Company will be held on 13 December 1999.

Copies of the circular have been lodged with the London Stock Exchange.
