Parity Group PLC 12 November 2002 Embargoed for release on 12 November 2002 at 7.00am Parity selected as sole Preferred Bidder for £8 million Cabinet Office BPO contract Parity Group plc ('Parity' or 'the Group'), the IT services group, announces that it has been awarded sole Preferred Bidder status by the Cabinet Office for a major business process outsourcing (BPO) contract worth approximately £8 million over five years from 1 April 2003. Contract negotiations are expected to be completed within the next four weeks. The cost of competing for this award and negotiating a contract has been written off within operating costs as incurred throughout 2002. The contract will involve the redevelopment, management and operation of the Civil Service's 'Fast Stream' graduate selection and recruitment programme from handling initial enquiries to acceptance of Civil Service positions by successful candidates. The main aim of the initiative is to modernise the current recruitment lifecycle and to improve communication with candidates throughout the process. As part of the project, the initial assessment process will be upgraded by Parity from the existing paper-based system to supervised computer-based testing which will take place across the UK, utilising Parity's hi-tech training centres. In addition, the number of days per annum on which candidates can to take the initial assessment tests will be significantly increased from the current level Parity will also host a contact centre to enable candidates to track which point their application has reached in the recruitment process via the internet, telephone or post.
