Appointment of Non-Executive Director 

The Directors of The Paragon Group of Companies PLC are pleased to announce the 
appointment of Christopher David Newell as a non-executive director. Mr Newell's
appointment will be effective from 1 November 2001.

Mr Newell is a managing director of Altium Capital Limited (formerly Apax 
Partners Corporate Finance).
