New Investment

Oxford Technology 2 VCT PLC 16 July 2001 Oxford Technology 2 VCT has recently invested a further £250,000 in Intellikraft Ltd, in addition to converting its existing 150,000 preference shares into ordinary shares (on the same terms). The investment was part of a larger fundrsaising round of about £4million. Intellikraft Ltd was formed to develop and exploit advances in piezoelectric technology, much of which stemmed from Russian research during the 1990's. The technology was obtained by CFB, an Isle of Man based technology incubator, and Intellikraft Ltd was subsequently spun out of this company and set up at the Begbroke Science Park in Oxfordshire. At the heart of the patent protected technology is a process for producing a piezoelectric crystal that can deliver significantly more current than conventional piezoelectric materials. The main purpose of current fundraising is to begin to commercialise the first Intellikraft application - a better rechargeable battery.
