                            Resignation of Director

Ormonde Mining plc ("Ormonde" or the "Company") advises that Mr. Colin Andrew, a
Non-Executive Director of the Company and former Chairman, has resigned from the
Board. The Board of Ormonde extends its sincere thanks to Mr. Andrew for his
role in the restructuring of the Company in 2001 and for his contributions to
the development of the Company since then.

Mr. Andrew has recently been appointed Managing Director of Cambridge Mineral
Resources plc and has tendered his resignation as a Director of Ormonde in order
to concentrate his time on his new executive responsibilities.
