ORIENT appoints Ellery Wee as Chief Technology Officer

 

ORIENT has appointed Ellery Wee as its Chief Technology Officer with immediate effect.

 

ORIENT is an information technology company that plans to offer managed services as its core business, which include managed services in machine to machine networking, solutions for internet of things (IOT), cyber security, big data solutions as well as full spectrum of other managed services. ORIENT will start making the services available in Singapore within the next few months with the view to internationalise its product and service offering within the next few years.

 

With such a wide product and services offering that uses leading edge technologies, the need has arisen for a highly experienced CTO to implement the Company's strategy, establish business goals and articulate the strategy to clients and partners. A key element of the CTO's role is to ensure that the most advanced technologies and latest innovations are employed across the product and service offering.

 

Ellery was most recently, the Senior Associate Director at Gartner. Ellery has almost two decades of experience in the IT industry, from software development, hardware sales and systems integration to Professional Services delivery, IT Advisory and Business Consulting. He has worked in Multinational corporations such as Microsoft and IBM in various capacities, implemented and managed special projects in optimizing the People, Processes or Technology in Client organizations. He currently holds 2 international technology patents.

 

Ellery received an MBA in International Business from the University of East London. His current expertise includes Digital Business, Digital Disruption, Business Model Innovation and platform of ecosystems to help drive new areas for revenue growth and profitability for corporations. He has delivered numerous presentations to Boards and Directors on digital disruption and cyber security issues that Boards should be aware of their implications to the corporations in this age of technological revolution.

 

It is anticipated that with the recruitment of Ellery, Sayed Mustafa Ali would now have less executive role in the Company but will continue to remain as a non-independent director of ORIENT.
