Orca Interactive Ltd 23 November 2004 23 November Orca Interactive Wins Contract for the first Irish IPTV Deployment Orca's middleware selected by an Irish operator for next generation triple play services RA'ANANA, Israel - November 23, 2004 - Orca Interactive (LSE:ORCA), a global market leader in developing applications for TV over IP networks, announces today that it has signed an agreement with a system integrator to provide a turnkey IPTV service solution to a new next-generation triple-play operator in Dublin, Ireland. The service provider will establish a fiber to the house network in the Dublin area to provide data, voice, TV and video on demand (VOD) services and plans to have up to 70,000 subscribers for its IPTV service within two to three years. The first subscribers are expected to be connected by December 1, 2004. The initial service will involve 20,000 subscribers and will provide up to 40 TV channels, an electronic program guide (EPG) and VOD. A second phase of the project is planned to start by April 1, 2005 and will provide up to 110 channels, billing, CRM integration, a customised Subscriber User Interface, encrypted TV, VOD and games. As part of the agreement with the systems integrator, Orca Interactive will provide the video server, encoder and content protection for the deployment in addition to the middleware. Orca will therefore provide an end-to-end solution that simplifies the system integration, thus lowering risk and costs.
