Extension of Block VI Thar Coalfield Licence

4 November 2010 GB00B23JN426/GBP/PLUS-exn Oracle Coalfields PLC ("Oracle" or the "Company") Extension of Block VI Thar Coalfield Licence Oracle Coalfields PLC (PLUS: ORCP), the UK developer of a 1.4 billion tonne JORC Measured coal resource in the south-eastern desert of Sindh Province, Pakistan announces that its exploration licence at Block VI of the Thar Coalfield has been extended for an additional year to 25 November 2011. The original exploration licence for coal over an area of 66.1 Sq Km was granted to Sindh Carbon Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Oracle, in November 2007 for a period of three years. The extension has been granted in accordance with the Company's plan to complete its feasibility study for Block VI of the Thar Coalfield ("Feasibility Study") and an update on ongoing operations in the field will be announced shortly. Commenting on the extension, Shahrukh Khan, CEO of Oracle said: "The extension of the licence demonstrates the continued governmental support for the development of the Thar Coalfield and will allow us to complete our work program for the bankable Feasibility Study."
