On-Line PLC 21 December 2000 London: 21 December 2000 ON-LINE PLC ANNOUNCES SEGA DREAMCAST PUBLISHER STATUS AAA Game, the games publishing subsidiary of On-line PLC, has signed contracts with Sega Corporation Ltd of Japan, which give the company official DREAMCAST publisher status. The news follows On-line's announcement in April 2000 that it had successfully gained developer status on the Dreamcast. The company has focused its efforts this year on publishing products for the PC. Successful launches have included the Giant Killers football management series and Deer Avenger, both of which are now expected to debut on Dreamcast in the first quarter of next year. Following the success of Giant Killers on the PC, the Dreamcast version will mark the first time a football management product has been launched on the console. Other future titles include Tread Marks, the award-winning tank game, released on PC this November. Rod Cobain, Managing Director of AAA Game, commented, 'We are delighted with the news from Sega. The Dreamcast is a crucial platform and is continuing to show strong potential in the face of changes in the console marketplace'. AAA Game is the games development and publishing subsidiary of On-line and was launched at ECTS 2000. The company's sports label, On-line Sports, was launched during 1999 with the release of Giant Killers, a Soccer management game. In May 2000 Rod Cobain was appointed MD of the company, ready for the release of the next product Giant Killers Euro Manager 2000.
