        Share interests of persons discharging managerial responsibilities

Mr Russell Edey, a non-executive Director of Old Mutual plc, purchased via his
self-invested personal pension 25,000 Old Mutual plc shares on 15 September 2006
at a price of £1.6394 per share. The total number of shares in the Company in
which Mr Edey (together with his connected persons, for the purposes of section
346 of the UK Companies Act 1985) is now beneficially interested is 25,000.

Mr Edey has also informed the Company that his holding in its separately listed
South African banking subsidiary, Nedbank Group Limited, has increased from
2,500 to 2,549 shares by virtue of his having received a dividend on his holding
in the form of scrip.
