EXERCISE OF 661,418 OLD MUTUAL PLC ORDINARY 10P SHARES HELD UNDER OPTION AND THE SALE OF 601,892 SUCH SHARES TO COVER THE COST OF EXERCISE, INCOME TAX AND EMPLOYEE'S NATIONAL INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS.

661,418 OLD MUTUAL PLC ORDINARY 10P SHARES ACQUIRED ON THE EXERCISE OF OPTIONS ORIGINALLY GRANTED ON 3 MARCH 2004 WITH AN EXERCISE PRICE OF £0.9525 PER SHARE. THE FINAL DATE ON WHICH MR ROBERTS COULD HAVE EXERCISED THESE OPTIONS PRIOR TO THEIR EXPIRY ON 3 MARCH 2010 WOULD HAVE BEEN 8 JANUARY 2010, OWING TO THE FACT THAT OLD MUTUAL PLC WILL BE IN A CLOSED PERIOD BETWEEN 11 JANUARY 2010 AND THE DATE OF EXPIRY.
