CLOSE BROTHERS AIM VCT PLC

The Board of Close Brothers AIM VCT plc (the 'Company') announces that it has appointed Octopus Investments Limited ('Octopus') as its Investment Manager with effect from 1 August 2008. This follows the agreed move to Octopus of the present fund managers, Andrew Buchanan and Kate Tidbury, who will continue the day-to-day management of the Company's portfolio of investments following the appointment of Octopus.

The existing investment management agreement has been transferred to Octopus and no changes have been made to the terms under which investment management services are provided to the Company.

As soon as practicably possible the Board will call an Extraordinary General Meeting to seek shareholders' approval for a change of name of the Company to Octopus AIM VCT plc reflecting the appointment of Octopus.
