Acquisition of Monument brings broking to Oakley


The Board of Oakley Capital Investments Limited (the 'Company', or 'Oakley'), the AIM traded investment company established to provide investors with exposure to the investment strategy being pursued principally by Oakley Capital Private Equity L.P. (the 'Limited Partnership'), is pleased to announce that the Limited Partnership has acquiredtogether with the founders, Monument Securities Limited ('Monument Securities'), the international derivatives, equities and fixed income broker, from Insinger de Beaufort Group.


Successfully trading since 1991, Monument Securities has built a considerable presence in the derivatives and equity markets and has gained a reputation as an experienced and professional house providing quality added value services to UK and US institutional investors, hedge funds and corporate investors.  Monument Securities is expected to operate on a stand-alone basis going forward, while taking advantage of Oakley Capital Limited's ('Oakley Capital') platform and leveraging cross-selling opportunities from Oakley Capital's extensive network of contacts Oakley Capital is the Investment Adviser to the Company and Limited Partnership.

The Company has been set up to invest primarily in Oakley Capital Private Equity L.P. (the 'Limited Partnership'), a private equity fund established by a team of experienced investment professionals led by Peter Dubens, executive chairman of Freedom4 plc and former chairman of 365 Media Group plc.  


The Limited Partnership will invest primarily in mid-market buy-outs in the UK and Europe. It will seek to acquire controlling positions in companies with scope for performance improvement, and in industries with strong underlying growth drivers and the potential for consolidation. The Limited Partnership will utilise the investment advisory team's proven ability to self-source transactions and actively manage portfolio companies to improve operational performance. The Limited Partnership will target equity transactions in the range of €30 to €140 million and will seek to deliver gross IRR on its investments in excess of 25% per annum and a blended gross multiple of three times.
