Numis Corporation Plc ('Numis')


Numis announces that in 1999 Numis Securities Limited, its principal operating
subsidiary, acted as an adviser to a company which made a capacity offer in
the Lloyd's market.  This transaction is now being examined by Lloyd's as the
relevant regulator and it is possible that, in due course, the conduct of
Numis Securities may fall to be criticised.  The Numis Group intends to
explain and robustly defend its actions.  When, in due course, the matter is
finally resolved, a further announcement will be made.
